Hiking
This area is a walker’s paradise!
The Abriachan woodland trails are directly accessible up the road from Fern View, or drive a few minutes up the road to the Abriachan Forest Trust centre to access more of the 40km walking and 3km biking trails.

Beaches
On the bank of Loch Ness, Lochend beach (5 minute drive) and Dores beach (20 minute drive) are both wonderful places for a stroll and a swim (if you can brave the cold!)
The idyllic dunes and sandy beaches of Nairn are approx 40-minute drive away
Isle of Skye
The majestic landscapes of Skye are accessible from Fern View for a full daytrip by car, or take a guided tour from one of the operators in Inverness. We are approx 1.5 hour drive from Skye bridge via Eilean Donan castle.
Golf
There are five excellent Highland golf courses all within a 45 minute drive – Castle Stuart Gold Links (Cabot Highlands), Nairn Golf Club, Fortorse & Rosemarkie Golf Club, Nairn Dunbar Golf Club and Strathpeffer Spa Golf Club.
Cairngorms National Park
Approx 1 hour away lies the largest national park in the UK, with a vast array of outdoor activities from walking, kayaking to winter skiing!
